Associational Committees – 2026

Administrative Committee

6 Members

This committee will meet quarterly or as needed.  The responsibilities of this committee are:

  • Overseeing property belonging to the Association
  • Assisting with staffing of the Associational professional staff
  • Recommending organizational leadership
  • Managing Associational staff in consultation with the Executive Director, including BSU representatives, recreation, camps, etc.

 

Finance Committee

6 Members

This committee will meet quarterly or as needed.  The responsibilities of the committee are:

  • Overseeing the Association’s budgeting process
  • Overseeing the Association’s stewardship emphases

 

Strategy Committee

6 Members

This committee will meet quarterly or as needed.  The responsibilities of the committee are:

  • Developing new work within the Association’s geographic boundaries
  • Developing mission opportunities within Metro Counties, within Mississippi, within North America and throughout the world.
  • Leading in social and moral issues
  • Assisting churches in developing their members
  • Providing customized assistance to the churches through the Associational staff
  • Establishing visions and goals for the Association
  • Developing strategies for strengthening fellowship among Metro Baptist churches, other Metro area churches, MS Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention

Operations Council

6 Members

 

Members Consist of:  Chairpersons of Strategy, Administrative and Finance Committees, Moderator, Moderator-Elect and Executive Director/Treasurer.  The responsibilities of the committee are:

  • Evaluating and making recommendations regarding churches requesting membership into the fellowship of the Association
  • Any business requiring attention between business sessions
