Biographical Info
Dr. Taylor joined Metro Baptist Association in October 2007. Prior to coming to Metro Association, he served as pastor at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Byram, MS from 1995 to 2007. He also served as pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Vicksburg, MS and Silver Creek Baptist Mission in Azle, TX.Dr. Taylor received a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1980 from Mississippi State. He went on to reveive a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1988 and a Doctor of Philosophy, Major in Preaching, with a Minor in New Testament in 2001 from New Orleans Baptist Seminary.John and his wife, Cathy, have four children and ten grandchildren. They live in Clinton, MS and they are members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Byram.
